Donating Pumpkins to Children's Charites

Details
Our Annual Pumpkin Caper project is just around the corner...and we need your help!
Each year, the Downtown Optimist Club purchases pumpkins and donates them to local organizations around the city. These pumpkins mean so much to these organizations! We get the opportunity to take these pumpkins to organizations who can then use them to bring joy to children as they can then decorate them.
Are you willing to help with any of the following? We need lots of help in each of these categories, so the more, the merrier!
• Meet us at the pumpkin pick up site (Johnny’s Market in Broad Ripple) to pick up the pumpkins?
• Meet us at the club meeting location (Scottish Rite Cathedral, downtown Indy) at noon to offload the pumpkins and distribute them into our delivery vehicles?
• Be a delivery driver and take pumpkins to a designated location?
Do you have a truck and/or trailer? This may be the PERFECT project for you! This project requires LOTS of man power...so be sure to sign up today!
We could use your help! Come one, come all!
We would like to thank Johnny's Market in Broad Ripple, our official pumpkin supplier, who sells us the pumpkins below market price.
Last year we delivered to: Easter Seals Crossroads, Hawthorne Center. Concord Center, Noble of Indiana, Wheeler Boys and Girls Club, La Rue Carter Hospital, Community North Hospital and Wesley United Methodist Church; and while the final details are still being worked out, they will likely be the same drop off locations this year.
The exact times are still being worked out, but the pickup in Broad Ripple will be somewhere between 9-11:30 am, and we should have be at the Scottish Rite by noon where we will separate the pumpkins out for each delivery.
