City to Countryside: A Scenic Social Walk Through Birmingham’s Hidden Gems
Join us for a refreshing walk that takes you from the heart of the city into the calm of green spaces, historic pathways, and peaceful canals. We’ll start at Brindley Place and follow the canal out of the city, passing old industrial buildings and heritage sites along the way.
We’ll then head into Edgbaston Reservoir—a wide open space with great views of the city skyline—perfect for a pause and some photos. From there, we’ll join the historic Harborne Walkway, once a railway line, now a quiet green corridor leading us into Harborne.
Here, we’ll have the chance to stop for coffee or a bite to eat before continuing toward Selly Oak, picking up another canal path that brings us all the way back into the city centre.
This walk is ideal for relaxed conversations without background noise, and there are plenty of points along the route to catch public transport if needed.
At the end, we’ll finish in the city, with the option to head out for dinner or make your way home.
Note: This is a joint event with another group, so attendance will be higher than the RSVP list shows.
