Athlete Health Data Protection with Verifiable Credentials

Details

Athlete data, college and professional, is constantly under scrutiny, whether it is from fans, sporting organizations, or the leagues the athlete plays for. And their health data is no exception. Athlete’s data is precious, can cost them opportunities, and is essential for their careers. They should have a right to privacy and security for their health information like anyone else.

New technologies like Decentralized Identity offer the ability to remove sensitive personal information from databases and store it locally with the data owner. This means athletes can control who can access their information, and has the potential to save time and money for organizations, while providing a better user experience and enhanced security for the athletes.

Kristy Gale, CEO of HONOR Data Rights Management joins Indicio Director of Customer Success David Jones for an in-depth discussion on how athlete data is currently handled and how we can do better.

What you will learn:

  • How athlete health data is currently handled
  • What the issues are with the current system for athletes, teams, and providers
  • How Decentralized Identity offers a new approach to health data management that solves these problems
