### Focus & Goals

• **Break through the audition barrier: treat auditioning as a specific skill. **
• Control your process instead of letting it control you.
• Adjust performance for the on-camera setting (playing to camera, creating a relationship with a scene partner even if they’re not present).
• Understand how self-taped auditions differ and how to do them well.
• All recorded in-class on-camera performances will be available to students

Key Topics & Weekly Activities

• **Script analysis: how to prepare for your auditions, analyze the script. **
• Comedic vs dramatic scripts: techniques per style.
• **Technical adjustments for camera: framing, line of sight, lighting, sound. **
• Self-tape best practices: dos & don’ts.
• Slate (introducing yourself to the casting director) and wardrobe considerations for on-site auditions.
• Understanding the casting process and how to handle callbacks & director sessions.
• Weekly on-camera performance, recorded and available for review online.
• For actors making the transition from stage to screen.
• **Learn how to control how the camera sees you; make necessary technical adjustments. **
• **Cover commercial styles, co-star roles, dramatic television/film scene work. **
• **Emphasis on “mental strength needed to work from a place of stillness.” **
