OVERVIEW
Learn the core elements of screenplay writing.
Through the course the mentor will enable you to develop a new script idea into an outline that can be used to write your first draft. The course will cover character development, theme, story arcs and visual storytelling.
The course is designed with screenplay writing for features at its core, but it will also touch upon writing for short narrative films.
Medium of instruction will be English and Hindi.

CURRICULUM
• Idea - Conceiving the Idea. Transforming the Vague idea into the Basic premise.
• The Structural approach including Three-Act Format of screenplays - The three-act structure of screenplay, how is it different from plays, stories or novels.
• Characters and behaviour
• Screenplay including: Log line, Synopsis, Treatments, Outlines and Drafts
• How to write screenplay using “Final Draft” software – the internationally accepted script writing format.

SCHEDULE & FEES
2:30 hours session on 8th August 2020. 10:30 am to 1:00 pm
FEES – Rs. 900/- (to be paid by Google pay or bank transfer)

IMPACT
The course will give an overview of the creative writing process behind filmmaking.
The participants will be introduced to the art of writing screenplays for cinematic content.

ABOUT THE MENTOR
Triparna Banerjee is a screenwriter and filmmaker. She is a 2019 Film Independent’s Global Media Maker Fellow. She started her writing career as a scriptwriter for ‘Galli Galli Sim Sim’ with Nickelodeon. She writes for films, television, web and advertising. She has worked with major production houses and broadcasters like – Miditech, Hotstar, BR Films, Zee 5, Citoc Motion Pictures and SVF Entertainment. Her scripts have been presented at development labs like – Cinefondation at Cannes Film Festival (2012) and Asian Project Market at Busan International Film Festival (2011).
