Indie Game Jam 25: Random Loot Drops!

Details

• What we'll do
We'll make games is what we'll do! This month's game jam is being graciously hosted by WhiteMoon Dreams, an indie game studio in South Pasadena. Since you'll likely see some concept art and other goodies from unreleased games, they have asked that we all sign NDAs, so let's be awesome and sign those and stick to them (ie. no pictures, don't tell anyone else any juicy details, etc.)

WhiteMoon Dreams is a short walk from the South Pasadena Gold Line Station; PARKING info is at the bottom of this description.

Get ready for a fun filled day of game development with pizza and games. We really can't wait to see everyone!

__________________________

First and foremost, we have only 15 spots available, it's very limited, so please update your RSVP as soon as you find out if you are unable to attend! So far people have been pretty good about this, but with limited space it doesn't take much to bump someone out with a failed RSVP update.

What you can look forward to being provided with at our meetups:

• A relaxed atmosphere, an open space to work, and time to spend on your project! Most people have specific projects they are working on; some people work on music, or game design, or art, or programming projects. This is primarily work time, and while discussion and socialization is encouraged, the longer format of this meetup is intended for sinking into meaningful project focused effort.

• A space to show progress month over month. Between standup and an optional demo you can share progress with members and get feedback on your games! Don't worry if you haven't got much progress though, the primary focus is hours to work, nobody will give you a hard time for having a busy month between meetups. Never feel shamed by how much or little you have to show, we are happy to see all our members month after month, work happens at the meetup.

• Pizza sweet, savory, saucy, just how you like it. Pizza. Feel free to pitch in, but do not feel obligated to! We appreciate all our members for taking their precious weekend hours to join us in solidarity making games!

These things aren't provided by the organizers or are things you'll need to bring with you to have a great experience:

• Bring your own project! We don't do pre-assigned groups or projects. We don't discourage collaboration in any respect, it just isn't officially guaranteed or supported by the organizers. Feel free to ask around, but expect to work on your own unless you have set something up ahead of time.

• This is not a networking, recruiting, or job seeking event. While some members have professional industry experience, this is a time for folks of all levels to focus on creating/hacking/building/etc!

• What to bring
Yourself! A friend (please include friends in the RSVP)! Computers, power cords, notepads, pens, keyboards, synthesizers, pillows, your favorite snacks to hoard or to share, or whatever else you need to have a fun and productive jam time.

• Provided
Comfy couches, a large conference table, electricity, large tvs for presentations, pizza, and restrooms. NOTE: HVAC will likely be off.

Parking:
Free street parking in front of and behind the building. There are several visitor parking spots in the rear building lot; just take a ticket at the gate and pick up validation at the meetup. DO NOT park in a non-visitor spot - you might get towed. The diner next door also has a large lot if you can't find something else.
