Indie Hackers #44 - Daisy Ions

Details
SPECIAL EVENT!
This meetup is a little different. We're privileged to have Daisy Ions join us for a fireside chat!
Daisy founded Whats On In Cape Town back in 2008. She succeeded in the events aggregation space where sooo many other startups failed. Since then, she's gone onto found Whats On In Joburg and Scene It.
Daisy is a non-technical founder who beat the odds and built a much-loved brand. As tech becomes increasingly accessible to everyone, the true differentiators won't be tech for much longer. Success will hinge upon the ability to address genuine problems, maintain unwavering resilience in adversity, and persistently move forward.
She's a wonderful, kind, and wise person. We could all learn from her. We're incredibly grateful to have Daisy join us!
VENUE
We're excited to be hosted again by Ozow. Our event will be held in their beautiful office in the FNB Building.
SPONSOR
We're excited to announce that Rus Newton and his VC firm have sponsored pizza and drinks for the next 10 months! If you're looking for early-stage funding, chat to Adrian for an introduction.
WHAT & WHY
Indie Hackers is a vibrant community of makers* of profitable online businesses. We come together to share stories, exchange insights, and discuss engaging topics that matter to us.
Our gatherings go beyond small talk, diving into meaningful conversations that resonate with each person's journey. By fostering genuine connections, we aim to inspire, support, and learn from one another as we navigate the exciting world of online entrepreneurship.
Join us to expand your network, gain valuable perspectives, and be part of a community that celebrates diversity in ideas and backgrounds!
* Our definition of "makers" is broad and inclusive, encompassing everyone from developers and designers to marketers, sales professionals, accountants, lawyers, and even students – anyone contributing to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
FORMAT
After the fireside chat, our evening will be structured around "Lean Coffee" discussions. This means everyone can suggest discussion topics on sticky notes and vote for the ones they find most intriguing. The topics with the most votes will shape our agenda for the session.
Come curious and ready to share your experiences! Please invite everyone you've brought or met at a previous event!
