No Tyrants - Mass Protest Against Trump's Authoritarianism

Canadians don't put up with mad tyrants. We protest without fear of police brutality. Let's keep it that way.

NO TYRANTS is an international day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.

On June 14—Flag Day in the US—Donald Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else.

On Saturday, June 14, we’re taking to the streets internationally. We’re not gathering to feed his ego. We’re building a movement that leaves him behind.

On June 14, Ottawa is STANDING UP and saying NO TYRANTS in solidarity with Indivisible Abroad, Democrats Abroad, concerned Canadians and allies around the world.

PLEASE NOTE In Canada, we have a king who serves as head of state. So we are NOT using the "No Kings" language of other events. Instead we are saying "No Tyrants"

We're swapping "No Crowns" for "No Clowns!" We encourage everyone to come dressed as Tr*mp clowns (or one of his cronies.) Think bad blonde wig, orange face, long red tie, and get creative!

You do not have to RSVP on Meetup to attend this event. If you prefer not to RSVO, simply show up at 2 PM at the York Steps next to the US embassy in Ottawa. We will be there!
