Plant walk

With the first flush of new growth, spring offers some of the best foraging of the year. The Watchung Reservation is host to a number of species, some native, some not, that any forager or medicine maker should be aware of. In this walk, we will meet some of those plants and discuss how we can identify and learn more about them.

For those of you who have never been on a plant walk before, bear in mind that this is more "plant" than "walk". When I've done these in the past, we've rarely made it more than a couple hundred yards. Think of this more as a sauntering seminar than a walk through the woods. It's more an exercise for the senses than it is for the legs.
