Plant walk

Having explored some of the open edge along the tree line in May, in our June walk we will venture a bit further into the woods. Here, we'll encounter those species that thrive just underneath the shading canopy. Some are great for foraging, some provide quite a few ecosystem services, and others just look good and smell nice!

We will cover a little more ground this month - perhaps up to a mile. The trail follows a stream bed down to the Blue Brook, so please wear sensible footwear. It's a well maintained trail, but it can get a little damp in spots.

Oh, and this time we will be meeting at the Trailside Nature Center, not the loop playground area.
