Hemlock Cliffs North Off Grid Adventure
Details
This off grid adventure explores the far Northern area of the Hemlock Cliffs / Shooting Star Cliffs area of the Southern Hoosier National Forest.
We will meet at 9 am EST at the Parking Area.
The Parking Coordinates are:
38.29396, -86.52535
We begin our off grid loop from the parking area.
This trek will take us below tall rock cliffs and through a number of beautiful rock shelters.
Along the way we will encounter caves, crevices, hopefully some arches, and lots of unique rock formations.
To clear up any confusion, this is not a hike to the Indian Arch area.
This hike is North of that area.
You will need to wear trail shoes or boots with good traction and trekking poles may be helpful.
Bring everything you need for a fun day, especially your sense of adventure.
This is only around 4 miles, but it will be challenging and there will be some minor rock scrambling.
Dress for the weather. The hike will happen rain or shine.
We will move at an average pace and stop for a lunch break along the way.
This hike will not be appropriate for pets.
There will be little to no cell phone signal during this hike.
If we finish with enough daylight, the popular Hemlock Cliffs Loop trail parking lot is about 5 Miles south of here and it’s only about 2 miles long.
In the event you signed up and cannot go, please edit your RSVP as early as possible.
I’ll provide my number to the group via private message a couple of days before the hike.
