Want to start the holiday madness with friends, in dive-bar calm, with a little turkey warmup and a fine ale in hand?

The MouseTrap (56th& Keystone) has offered up a very economical plate of Thanksgiving fare on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, every year since Y2K. Along with the tastey food is pool, darts, board games and, as it's Wednesday night, a free jamband open mike starting about 9:30. (For those who value their beery experience, the MouseTrap also offers a small-but-eclectic set of craft beers.)

I'd love to work a hike in here, but probably, arriving at 6pm for a game of pool is a better, and warmer, bet.

No RSVP limit. Indy Hikers has sent 4-6 in past years -- there is certainly room for another 4-6, and if all 5,000 of us... Oh, nevermind. The thing is, low key, relax, talk, laugh, dance, plot summer hikes, have somewhere to go where everybody knows your name. AND YES!!! Friends, family, out-of-towners, the kid down the street... You get the idea.
