Details
Let's Hike a Trail -> Then discuss Kilimanjaro
**Pre-travel event #1 - We have 3 people currently interested and are coordinating dates/times for our Pre-travel training hikes and discussions.**
.
FAQ:
- When are you going? Undecided, still researching the best month for weather, # days we can travel (which trail to take), and when we all feel "ready" for a successful summit
- Can I just come hike? Yes. Pls especially come if you have winter hiking experience or you already climbed Kilimanjaro. We newbies welcome your tips!
- Can I just come talk? Yes. Pls be at the Reddick Shelter at 5pm - and you may have to wait for us depending on what trail we're on, but then we can tell you whether it will be Jockamo or the library for discussion.
- I missed a prior training event, can I still come to this one? Yes
Plan: Hike ~2hrs at a pace of ~18/19min per mile (brisk pace), maybe add some sled hill loops, and then either head to Jockamo Pizza (9165 Otis Ave) OR for better internet and quiet: Fort Ben Library (open till 8PM) 9330 E 56th St.
.
Tentative Kili hike date: Earliest would be Spring 2026
