Explore the HoosierNF off trail
Details
I plan on spending most every spring weekend exploring new areas of the HoosierNF. This trip will be starting at the north end of Nebo Ridge, where we will then head off to find unique and difficult ways around the forest. Expect big hills, creek crossings, and aimless wandering at a nice slow pace. I expect to hike around 8 to 10 miles in 7 hours. This is a off trail hike, and will be very challenging for those unaccustomed to walking steep and uneven terrain. If injured we will cover you in BBQ sauce and call in the coyotes, most likely with something from the great ACME brand. Having tore two calf muscles last time I did a hike like this in November, I don't recommend it!
I will also be hosting three levels of backpacking trips every other weekend after this event, to try and rehab from the injury. A beginner, intermediate, and advanced overnight trip because it worked out so well last time... So if I go down again, I prefer Famous Dave's. Bad jokes aside I highly recommend trekking poles, lots of snacks and liquids, and make sure 15 mile rugged trail hikes are in your wheelhouse.
