FoldingCoin: How to Cure Diseases with Your Computer

Details
Want to learn how cryptocurrency is supporting cutting-edge medical research?
Join us at Launch Indy for FoldingCoin: How to Cure Diseases with Your Computer.
Distributed computing is one of the most important computer infrastructure systems ever designed. But most people haven't been aware of its existence until the recent explosion of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin.
FoldingCoin (https://foldingcoin.net/) works with existing distributed computing systems that predate cryptocurrency and Bitcoin by over a decade. These older distributed computing systems work on medical research and do not have a profit motive in mind for participation, but rather a volunteer model.
Robert's non-profit combines the two in order to bring mass adoption of medical distributed computing to the public by providing a profit and rewards incentive to participate, with the goal of curing some of the world's worst diseases like cancer.
A big thanks to Greenlight Guru (www.greenlight.guru) for providing the food and space for the evening. We'll enjoy delicious food from Nameless Catering (www.namelesscatering.com), the preferred caterer for Indy's tech community.
