Backpacking Hemlock Cliffs

There is a large area in the around the Hemlock Cliffs official trail to explore. The plan is to arrive Friday evening and hike in about a mile and camp near a pond. Saturday we will explore a portion of the back country area and see waterfalls, an arch, a cave, and much more. Saturday night we will camp near Messmore cliff. Sunday we will hike out and visit a portion of the official trail.
This will be 90% bushwhacking/unofficial trails.
Directions to Trailhead - From I-64 take the IN 237 exit north about 2 miles. The road climbs a steep grade, just before it begins to level off, you are looking for Union Chapel road on the left. Be careful, you may miss this the first time. Turn left at Union Chapel and follow the road to the first intersection, continue left. At the next intersection, continue right. At the "T" in the road, continue on Hatfield road to the right. Look for the Hoosier National Forest sign. Park at the gravel picnic area lot.

You will need a basic backpacking setup. We will camp two nights.
