Topic: Fabric and AI: Becoming Calm and Confident in the Face of Change

Abstract: Microsoft’s pace of innovation in the data space has unlocked tremendous opportunities for business leaders and data professionals alike, but as that pace accelerates further with Fabric and AI, it’s having an unintended negative consequence: Innovation Fatigue.
Innovation Fatigue is the inability for our brains to keep up. How can you digest dozens of new developments when you’re still trying to internalize the last few? And more pointedly, our brains learn best via hands-on experience, which is hard to come by when our business environments can’t keep up.
If you’re feeling this way lately, you’re far from alone. Virtually everyone is in the same boat, but it’s not something anyone publicly admits. On the contrary, LinkedIn provides a steady diet of “influencers” who all claim to be Way Ahead of You while simultaneously Understanding All of It. They wield FOBO – your Fear Of Becoming Obsolete – as a means of snaring you into dependence on their content. Yuck.
