Green Halloween fundraiser, hosted by ICV in honor of International Day of Climate Action. **Celebrate Halloween sustainably with live music, voter education, and an eco-friendly themed costume contest! Music by Chorin, Starlight Lounge, Decanter, The Untold, & UaZit! Palm readings will be provided by Relevant Readings, tarot readings by Tori McClain, & reiki by Amrita Mystic.**

**Our sustainable costume contest encourages you to get creative with thrifted, handmade, and upcycled costumes.** Show off your eco-friendly fashion and stand a chance to win exciting prizes! Kit has been a leader in the effort to defeat numerous attacks on civil rights – most notably the rights of queer and trans Hoosiers. In 2019, she was inducted into Indy Pride’s Hall of Fame for this work and in 2020 was named Community Leader of the Year by the Indy Rainbow Chamber of Commerce. In 2021, she was awarded the Kennedy-King Memorial Initiative's Trailblazer Award for Civic Engagement. She also led the Indy Pride Parade as a Grand Marshall in 2022 and 2023, and was presented with the Reach Award for Outstanding Service to Community by Muncie Outreach in 2023. 

In her role as an advocacy strategist and a lobbyist at the ACLU of Indiana, Kit was a leader in the fight to defend civil liberties across the spectrum of ACLU issue areas. While leading groundbreaking work on reproductive justice and voting rights, she also oversaw the ACLU of Indiana’s LGBTQ Rights Project and the Transgender Education and Advocacy Program. A former high school teacher, Kit started her advocacy career as a community organizer for the Freedom Indiana campaign. While there, she helped organize local battles to successfully pass non-discrimination protections in over twelve municipalities.

 Currently, Kit is working as a freelance political strategist where she helps non-profit organizations build strategy and coalition to tackle some of the most thorny civil rights issues of our time. An Indy resident, she lives in her beloved Garfield Park with her husband, daughter, 2 grouchy cats, and one hyperactive border collie. We're delighted to have her on our team!
