It's been an exciting summer in Elixirland, with Erlang 20, Elixir 1.5, and Phoenix 1.3 all getting released. For November's meetup we'll try something different. Instead of two long talks, we'll start with an open mic night 🎤 (https://emojipedia.org/microphone/) where members can share something they've learned or are working on:
• Demo one of the new Elixir goodies like Phoenix contexts, IEx breakpoints, or UTF-8 symbols :"🎉" (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0ahUKEwihoYXrsfXWAhVD1oMKHS7eDRsQFggmMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Femojipedia.org%2Fparty-popper%2F&usg=AOvVaw1KhOVs9hJfoCqKmUIjASwq)
• Share or ask for help with a side-project you've been working on or thinking about
• Learning Elixir? Ask for feedback on some code or an exercise solution
• Share something you learned from a favorite ElixirConf (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqj39LCvnOWZMVugtyKlHMF1o2zPNntFL) talk
• Whatever interests you!
Then we'll close out the meetup with a Hack Night. And as always, we'll have pizza and a raffle for two excellent Elixir eBooks from Manning (https://www.manning.com/).
Hope to see you there!
