This group is for people interested in all things InfoSec.
We'll meet monthly, socialize regularly and network extensively.
I created this group because I know there are plenty of us (security pros and people interested in infosec) in the Hamilton area and we lack a way to get together, talk shop and share our knowledge on a regular basis.
Whether you are a seasoned pro, a newbie (students and life-long learners are all welcome) or someone in need of security services (business owners, CEOs, CIOs, etc.), you are all encouraged to attend.
Get togethers are held the second Monday of each month (except when a holiday interferes, in which case we'll shift one week before or after accordingly).

We've been saying security is a team sport for years. I still believe that, but I don't think it's the interesting part anymore. The question I keep coming back to is what that team looks like when some of the players are AI tools that act on their own, faster than any of us can follow. If one of them shuts down a server at 3 AM, a person still has to own that decision, and in a lot of organizations it isn't clear who that person is.This talk is me working through that out loud. I'll borrow from people who have been dealing with this problem longer than we have, in aviation, in healthcare and in my own past life in IT service management, and try to sort out where human accountability starts and where it ends. My hunch is that the decisions that matter most now get made well before anything happens. It isn't a product talk, and I'm hoping it turns into a conversation.

Cameron Chojnacki leads a team of security solution engineers at Microsoft Canada. Before Microsoft, he spent more than a decade as an IT director, and he still thinks about security the way a service manager does: who owns it, who's allowed to change it, and who gets the call when it breaks. Most recently he worked with Ontario's public sector and healthcare organizations on their security programs. Outside work, he's usually sim racing, watching baseball or hockey, or reading Iain M. Banks' Culture novels, which turn out to be decent preparation for a talk like this one.Your co-hosts:
Todd Dow (LinkedIn) is a Cybersecurity Solutions Engineer focusing on AI Defense, Splunk XDR, Agentic AI & SOC Modernization at Cisco. He is also a writer (toddhdow.com), speaker and founder of InfoSec Hamilton. Todd has over 20 years of experience in the cybersecurity field performing penetration tests, providing security architecture and compliance consulting and creating, developing and leading high performing security teams – this included working as the CISO at two organizations: First Ontario Credit Union and ArcelorMittal Dofasco. Todd maintains CISSP, CISA and PMP credentials and he has also earned an Hon BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies from the University of Toronto.Don Mallory (LinkedIn) has over 30 years of experience in enterprise IT, primarily in critical infrastructure, specializing in operations, data storage, disaster recovery, and security for critical infrastructure. Professionally, Don is a Senior Security Analyst in the healthcare sector. He is a co-author of “Applied Data Security Strategy - A Leader’s Guide”, and has been involved in various volunteer activities including C3X, Hak4Kidz Toronto, the Hamilton Infosec Meetup, and the Latow Photographer's Guild at the Art Gallery of Burlington, where he teaches traditional wet darkroom photography.
