Happy New Year, dear community!

I hope you all recharted your batteries and ready to learn more AKS in 2022.

This time we focus on scaling in AKS and you will learn:

  • What kind of scaling options are available for applications and clusters in AKS
  • How to manually scale pods and how Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA) works
  • How to manually scale nodes and how cluster autoscaler works
  • What is Kubernetes-based Event Driven Autoscaler (KEDA) and how to use it to scale your applications

Agenda:
Workshop is organized as a combination of theoretical blocks with slides and labs. The preliminary agenda can be found here https://github.com/evgenyb/aks-workshops/tree/main/05-scaling-options-in-aks#agenda

Estimated time for workshop completion is between 3 and 4 hours.

Prerequisites:
Please spend some time before the workshop and make sure that you have installed/registered/configured all prerequisites.

  • Microsoft Teams
  • Visual Studio Code with ARM and Bicep plugins installed
  • Windows Terminal (for those of you who are on Windows)
  • an active Azure account
  • installed az cli

This workshop is rated level 200 with a target audience of developers and architects working with AKS.
