Hello Infracoders!

Mantel Group have kindly offered to host the Infracoders meetup in September, and will supply food and beverages.

We have 2 technical talks per meetup. Commencing at 6pm, we will be finished by 8pm.

There will be a delegation afterwards to a licensed venue for an informal Post Meetup Review with your hosts & fellow attendees.

Presentation 1. Archie Gunsekara (Slack) // Shipyard: Slack’s Next-Generation EC2 Platform

Built to bring modern deployment practices - immutability, progressive rollouts, and automated safety - directly to EC2 instances. Rather than continuously mutating long-lived instances, Shipyard treats infrastructure as deployable artifacts. Instances are short-lived and continuously refreshed, provisioning happens in seconds and rollbacks are metric-driven. This talk covers how Shipyard supports workloads that can’t easily move to containers - from Kubernetes worker nodes to egress network stacks.

Presentation 2. Sam Bentley & Phil Jay (Reece) // Trust, flow, and getting elevated credentials just in time.

Why Reece has a service named after a Pokémon - Magikarp - to help people stay in the flow of their work, obtaining elevated credentials to AWS just in time
