Who is "good" or "evil" ?

Details

Charles, a member who has given me a couple of topics as well as returning attendee, has set up the context for this convo to have. The reason I ask the title question who is "good" or "evil" is set up by Charles in his own words as follows:

The idea is that a human really has no control over who they become. There are two main factors that drive a person to become the person they are: Nature and Nurture… how much of each is still up for debate, but we know that those are the inputs: Genetics and Upbringing. The fact is that people have no part to play in deciding on which genes they inherit, nor do they choose the parents they are assigned to, nor do they choose which sentiments are instilled into them, nor do they choose the support that is given to them, etc. It begs the question: Does a good person deserve credit/discredit for becoming the good/evil person that they are?
