The Top of the Mountain(s)

When exploring or developing oneself, when exploring or gathering who you desire to be in your tribe, or when exploring or deciding your path in life... is there an end point where you know the answer. Unless it's a set of answers...
Do... we... get.. to... the bottom, of what each of these are?
or, said with another analogy: the top of the mountain(s)?
Is the idea more or less endless? Would you prefer it to be endless
as that allows the inquiry, engagement and/or etc. to be experienced?
Is the idea of an "endpoint" itself an incorrect idea?
