WHY HAPPY DANCE
Happy dancing is about moving away from caring about what others think about you as you move, to moving from your heart and learning to let go on inhibitions and being free to move (or be still) in a way that feels good to you, regardless of what anyone else might think about it.
innaCHANGE hope to provide a safe space to do just that.
There are several benefits to moving in this way:
- When we are being creative and moving in flow intuitively, we are more likely using parts of our brain that bring our body and mind into balance
- Coming out of our comfort zones and practicing being free to be ourselves as we Happy dance, can also help us to feel more confident and be more authentic and free in other areas of our lives
- Science tells us that our bodies remember things from the past. In very simple terms, this means heavy emotions and memories can become stored in our bodies and can lead to various health challenges. Practising moving our bodies in particular ways over time, as guided in the session, can help to release some of these stored emotions and lead to improved overall health
- Dance and movement is a form of exercise, which can help boost your mood, increase feel good hormones and improve overall wellbeing
- Moving our bodies intentionally in a mindful way, where we maintain a focus on how our bodies feel on the inside and outside can improve our interoception. We become more able to notice when we're feeling okay and from when we're not.
The benefit of this is that we can get better at noticing when we're not feeling okay and have more opportunity to do something about it.
