Wander walk: Walking meditation (outdoors)
What is it?
Join us for a FREE Wander Walk, where we'll practice a short, outdoor walking meditation, followed by regrouping for a mini coffee/soft drink social indoors.
I'll be sharing ideas from a variety of teachings, include some ideas from Dr Joe Dispenza's work on how to use meditations to biologically change from the inside out, through practicing the habits of person you want to be and walking into your future.
All ages welcome, whether you're completely new to meditation or have a daily practice.
When & where?
Date: Sunday 23rd March 2025
Time: 10-11:30am
Location: Walsall Arboretum (Meeting at the Visitor Centre Cafe in the park - Near Buchanan Ave/Lichfield St entrances)
If running late and we've left the café, turn left out of the cafe and head over to small bridges by the streams. I'll stay near there until 10:30am. After this, feel free to join us for the coffee social at 11am.
What to bring?
The meditation will be outdoors. Please wear clothes and footwear appropriate for the weather/ outdoor walking. Walkers will set their own pace.
Basic format for meet up:
10am - I will arrive by 9:50am if people do arrive earlier
10:10am - Brief introduction to the meditation practice
10:20am - Short guided standing meditation in group to set intentions
10:30am - Split off individually for a 30 minute Wander meditation - all within the same area.
(This part is not guided. Walkers can set their own pace. The focus is more on the meditation rather than the distance walked.)
11am - Re-group (where the standing meditation started) for brief feedback before returning to the café for a coffee/ soft drink social until 11:30am/12pm
Why practice walking meditation?
So many of us spend too much of our lives in autopilot because of the hustle and bustle of life. Not taking the time to become intentional about who we really want to be and how we want to live our lives.
Maybe you've heard of, or have tried meditating, in an attempt to learn to become more present - no longer stuck in the past or the worries of the future. A choice to take charge over your life and live a life that feels good.
But as soon as your meditation ends and you open your eyes to continue your day, you move straight back into the familiar habit of living in auto pilot? Nothing changes.
I'll be sharing ways in whe can incorporate walking meditation into our daily lives, to help live our lives living - feeling more alive on inside.
About the organiser
innaCHANGE is a Community Interest Company, mostly serving Walsall and surrounding areas with face to face wellbeing events and workshops, with some natipnal online events.
We're here to support people to Live Life Living, through providing mental health education and some basic brain science to consider ways to reduce stress and create more balance in body, mind and daily life.
