Polyvagal - Informed Mindfullness

Details

Join Omri for a deep dive into the ins and out of self-regulating our nervous system's autonomic system - which controls and coordinates your life experience of emotions, sensations and behaviors.

In this monthly exploration, you will learn to develop practical tools to heighten awareness of how you experience, embody, and express yourself in the world.
Polyvagal Theory (PVT) - conceptualized by Stephen Porges - helps us understand how our body and brain collaborate to respond to every day, run-of-the-mill stressors, including more significant ones such as trauma.
PVT emphasizes the role the autonomic nervous system - especially the vagus nerve - plays in regulating our physical and mental health and behavior as it relates to our psychological and physiological states.
By building community, we naturally stimulate the highest branch of our nervous system - the social engagement system - which in turn fosters connection, safety, and ease in our body-mind, and life. This is the essence and purpose of "Polyvagal - Informed Mindfulness”.
Through the four foundations of mindfulness practice that have been taught for thousands of years, we will explore how our perception and behavior can be upgraded to allow for living a life with greater awareness.
By deepening our connection to the inner and outer realms – we will validate the perennial philosophy of Buddhism’s ancient wisdom.
Participants will:

  1. Understand PVT’s three defining principles.
  2. Engage in somatic activities, including meditation, breathing practices, and movement to cultivate a balanced state of being.
  3. Overcome anxiety, emotional triggers and heal from past traumas.
  4. Learn about the body’s innate biological responses.
  5. Connect with folks that are committed to personal growth and healing.

Join Omri for illustrated and experiential presentations that will inspire your spirit, engage your mind, and challenge your creativity, as you uncover the enormous potential in applying this information in your daily practice and life!
