What we’re about

Welcome to where engineers, scientists, and founders build the future together.
We're a community of 800+ people in London who are actively building - launching ventures, shipping products, solving hard technical problems, and driving real enterprise adoption of emerging technology. If you're building something, leading a technical team, or translating research into reality, you're in the right place.

What brings us together:
We believe the best technical work happens when great people collaborate. Engineers solving problems alone face limits. Scientists translating research need partners. Founders building ventures need co-founders and advisors. Enterprises facing technical challenges need proof that solutions exist. We're the network where these connections happen naturally.

You might be here if you're:

  • Building or scaling a venture (technical founder, CTO, principal engineer)
  • Leading technical transformation in an enterprise
  • Commercialising research into products people use
  • Solving complex technical problems at scale
  • Exploring what's possible with emerging tech (AI, deep-tech, fintech, etc.)
  • Looking to collaborate with exceptional technical minds

Or maybe you're just curious about what other builders are creating and want to be part of a community that's making things happen. That's welcome too.

What we're NOT:

  • An academic or research group (though many of us have that background)
  • A casual networking mixer (we're intentional about who we gather together)
  • A lecture series where you sit and listen (though great speakers inspire us)
  • A recruitment pipeline (though many members have found co-founders and team members here)

What actually happens at our events:
We host intimate gatherings (15-50 people) where technical depth meets real conversation. You'll meet engineers tackling industrial AI, scientists launching biotech ventures, CTOs scaling products, and founders who've been exactly where you are. Events range from deep technical dives to founder roundtables to hands-on commercialisation workshops.
Everyone comes because they're curious, they're building something, or they want to learn from people a few steps ahead. The vibe is collaborative, not competitive.

Industries we're active in:

  • Fintech & Digital Banking - Digital payment systems, blockchain, RegTech
  • AI/ML & Enterprise Software - Production AI systems, enterprise platforms, applied machine learning
  • Deep-Tech & Industrial - Advanced materials, robotics, manufacturing automation, IoT
  • Life Sciences & Biotech - Biotech ventures, medical devices, health tech commercialisation
  • Government Digital Services - Public sector technology transformation

Our membership process (why we ask questions):
We ask a few things from new members to understand your background - not to gatekeep, but to make sure the community stays aligned. We're looking for people who are actively building or leading, not collecting meetup memberships.
When you apply, we'll ask:

  • What you're currently working on (or building)
  • What brought you here and what you're hoping to get from the community
  • A bit about your technical background

That's it. We'll review your application within a week. We approve most people, but we do turn down folks who aren't actively building or exploring how to build.

Why we keep this selective:
Smaller, focused communities create better connections. When everyone in the room is either building, leading a technical team, or actively commercialising something, the conversations go deeper. There's less ego, more substance. People actually help each other because they understand the challenges intimately.

Conditions we ask of members:

  • Show up if you RSVP (no-shows hurt everyone - your seat could go to someone genuinely excited)
  • Be respectful and collaborative (we're all figuring things out)
  • Share your insights when you have them (and listen when others share theirs)
  • Keep conversations confidential (what's said in the room stays in the room)
  • Contribute if you can (mentor someone, share an idea, help a fellow builder)

Staying active:
We're most excited about members who actively engage. If you attend events, share ideas, or help connect other members - you're exactly the kind of person who makes this community thrive. If you join and disappear, that's totally fine, but we might gently suggest you step back so someone more engaged can take your spot.

Let's build something together:
London has incredible technical talent scattered across ventures, enterprises, universities, and independent builders. Our mission is simple: bring those people together so they can create, collaborate, and accelerate what's possible. That only works if you bring your authentic self, your current challenges, your curiosity, and your willingness to both give and receive.

Ready to join?
Apply below with a quick intro. Tell us what you're building or leading, and what you're curious about. We'll get back to you within a week.
See you at an event soon.
