Philosophy Nights ! (Theme: Thought Experiments Night)

Dear Friends of the Philosophy Meetup!
It's with great joy that we announce another Philosophy Night! We continue to be humbled by the people who tell us that their Saturdays just aren't the same without their weekly dose of philosophy and community.
To that end, we will be partnering with Skybird on Rue Jean-Talon (between De Castelnau and Parc Stations).
Note the later start time than usual.
Meetup fee: $14
Fees will include a coupon for a 4 inch gourmet sandwich made on-site and a coffee/tea/non-alcholic beverage. The coupon can also be used as a discount if you would like to upgrade!

Theme: Thought Experiments Night
Topics:

1. The Sorites Paradox: Interrogating reality and the vagueness that plagues so much of our subjective experience as we seek to define it.
2. The Master or the Slave: An exploration of the Master-Slave dialectic and the evolution of dialectics from recognition and dependency to more practical applications of dialectics.
3. The Monsters of Utility: A dive into Utilitarianism and the problem of the Utility Monster

For those not familiar with the format, here is how the night will work:
We'll mingle as folks settle in with their food, then start discussion our discussion.
Topics don't need to be strictly philosophical, they can be social, political or historical, anything that the group decides is worth discussing.
- Skybird then closes but we often continue into the night at a local pub/eatery.
So come by to see old friends, make new ones and have stimulating discussions with amazing open-minded people from all walks of life!
