Philo Nights! Subject: Metaphysics of the Self

Dear Friends of the Philosophy Meetup!
It's with great joy that we announce another Philosophy Night! Saturdays aren't the same without their weekly dose of philosophy and community.
To that end, we are currently partnering with Maison de l'Afrique in Rosemont (a few mins away from Beaubien station).
Meetup fee 12.00$
Fees cover our operations, and black coffee, tea, and some snacks are included.

Theme: Metaphysics of the Self
Topic: Postulating the existence of a self. What, if anything, lies beyond flesh and bone? Is the notion of the self an illusion of consciousness or is there something real to the subjective experience?

For those not familiar with the format, here is how the night will work:
Topics don't need to be strictly philosophical, they can be social, political or historical, anything that the group decides is worth discussing.
Come by to see old friends, make new ones, and have stimulating discussions with amazing open-minded people from all walks of life!
