Samhain Gathering: Honoring Those Who Came Before Us
Details
A Seasonal Circle of Remembrance, Reflection & Connection
Join us for a warm and welcoming gathering inspired by Samhain (pronounced SOW-in), an ancient seasonal tradition that marks the transition from autumn toward winter and invites us to honor those who came before us.
At this time of year, many cultures celebrate remembrance and connection with loved ones who have passed. Samhain offers a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect on the people who have shaped our lives, and consider the wisdom and memories we carry forward.
Our ancestors don't have to be limited to biological family. They may be loved ones, friends, teachers, mentors, or anyone whose life and influence have helped shape our own.
Together, we'll create space to slow down, connect with ourselves and one another, and honor the season through simple, meaningful rituals.
🍂 During Our Time Together, You'll Experience:
- Opening connection circle to welcome everyone
- Guided meditation and journaling for intuition and reflection
- Labyrinth walk, a peaceful walking meditation
- Remembrance ritual using herbs, written intentions, and a ceremonial fire
- Community remembrance altar with an opportunity to honor someone meaningful to you
- Reflection and sharing in a supportive circle
No previous experience with meditation, labyrinths, or seasonal traditions is needed. All activities are invitations, and you are welcome to participate in whatever way feels comfortable.
You'll leave feeling more grounded and connected, with an opportunity to honor those who have touched your life, reflect on the wisdom you've received, and carry that connection forward.
What to Bring:
- A journal and pen
- A mug or refillable water bottle
- If you'd like, a small photo or meaningful object to place on our community remembrance altar
- Anything you need to feel comfortable/warm outdoors
