What we’re about
Hey,
Our attendee vetted free event-themed socials aim to build authentic social connections founded on genuine mutual passions, interests, hobbies and personalities where enriching conversations flow naturally, and experiences and activities together remain truely memorable
To ensure maximum engagement and enjoyment - we don't do bog standard generic socials which tend to attract indiscriminates making it hard to find people on the same wavelengh as you. That's why all of our event attendees are pre screened to ensure they share the same mutual passion for the event theme as you offering an exciting enriching social haven for busy affable working professionals to de-stress and enjoy themselves
Our typical attendees are sociable, young at heart, unmarried & childless 25 - 45 career professions with fun hobbies and interests who share a balance of intellectual, cultural, social and creative prowess. If you were too cool for school, you'll naturally fit right into most events. If on the other hand you typically like to go out on a Saturday night to play board games in a bar/pub (WTF!) sorry but our events and the personalities that attend them might not be up your street!
Best of all - our events are FREE as thankfully most public places in London such as museums, galleries, bars, resturants and even nightclubs are 100% free to get into. Unless we incur a direct fee from the venue (above and beyond group running fees paid by the organiser out of own pocket) - we never charge for any events as we firmly believe access to life enrinching hobbies, activities and joy should accessible to everyone irrespective of their income levels

We value quality over quantity, so our events have RSVP limits to foster excellent conversation dynamics and enjoyable stimulating social mixing/activities with the right people
Lastly, our events are not singles / dating events but a friendly inclusive female freindly hassle free environment. We value respectful but fun interactions and genuine connections. Anyone attending with inappropriate intentions or does not demonstrate genuine passion for the event theme will be asked to leave.
Let's keep it real, fun and enjoyable for everyone

See all- 🔭Free Stargazing With Telescopes & Wine ☾Prov Date☽🪐Camden Town Tube Station, London
Do you look up and marvel with insatiable curiosity at both the beauty and the wonder of the universe? How it began, our place in it, how life evolved and where else in the cosmos other non-microbial life might live (almost every star you see has planets orbiting with up to 20 billion habitable exoplanets easily in oyr galaxy alone!)?
Then RSVP to view the potential life harbouring moons of Jupiter, the famous Orion Nebula where stars like our sun were born, the majestic rings of Saturn, the international space station, the interstella Atlas comet that's just entered our solar system, Tau Ceti star with 2 Earth like planets orbiting in the habitable zone, remnants of supernova witnessed by our early ancestors plus a range of other fascinating celestial wonderments (comets, star systems, galaxies) over drinks and engaging chats and banter this Sept fully hosted by me - a passionate amateur astronomer and former global Reuters journalist covering big picture science related stories.
And yes - no I didn't make it up - NASA really has found the best evidence to date of ancient life on Mars so we'll defo take a look at the red planet!
In between observing - we'll have drinks and engaging chats on all astronomy related topics for those inclined (Astrobiology, SETI/Femi Paradox, cosmology, space exploration, exoplanetology, astrophysics etc) as well as non space chatter and banter too. No doubt I'll hear the usual jokes we've all heard hundreds of times before! If those don't make you laugh, then my impersonation of Los Angeles ET will! 👽
====Joining Astronomers Group & Telescopes =====
I'm able to take a limited number of people (please only RSVP if you can make it) to join my friendly informal relaxed London amateur astronomers' club that have been for over a decade with their regulars made up of up to about 150 people. As there will be people attending from this private Astronomers group as well as others from one of my other groups - the total attendees will be far higher than rsvps here and the public liability insurance only covers a max number of people - hence I need to impose strict limits on attendance.Over the years we have enjoyed numerous social evenings of stargazing and thought provoking chatter with people of all ages and varying levels of astronomy knowledge - so complete beginners that are genuinely curious about the universe are very welcome. If you are just looking to meet generic randoms then there are others groups that will better cater for that. The world renowed BBC Television Sky at Night also attended our events pre covid and interviewed some of us for it's show that aired on BBC1 in Feb 2019. BBC Radio London (94.9 FM / digital) were there Aug 2023 to cover our meteor shower event broadcasting live to millions of Londoners for 3 hours
You don't need a telescope as you will be able to view through scopes belonging to me and other club members (as long as you behave responsibly and don't temper with expensive equipment). If you have your own telescope/binoculars feel free to bring along and I can help you setting it up if you're a newbie.
Alcoholic beverage (wine, beer, cider only), hot drinks and food/snacks will be available to purchase from the indoor cafe at the observation point which Regent's park keep open exclusively for our group so no need to bring your own drinks/snacks
====ITINERARY=====
We will meet outside Camden Station. After a short wait for anyone delayed, I will escort everyone to our observation point in the park about 15-20 minutes walk away and brief you in terms of what to expect, observing etiquette, tips, equipment handling and take any questions you have - weather general or astronomy/cosmology related.After Drinks: Unless I have a very important 9AM Thursday deadline for a client presentation or something - most of us usually head our way back to Camden for another drink till about midnight. I will annouce the pub to all on the walk back.
