We'll raft the entire 21-mile 30 rapids of the legendary South Fork of the American River from Chili Bar Dam to Folsom Lake. Rafting the South Fork of the American is one of the countries most popular rafting trips and is quite the experience.
We will camp, play in the river next to the campground in Coloma on Sunday. Fishermen: Bring your rods to fish for bass or trout right off the river!
After a good night sleep, be ready to get up at 7 am to pack up, have breakfast, change and be ready to leave at 8:30 am. Instructors will not wait. Be
ready for a day of adventures .
We'll paddle our way through rapids such as Meat Grinder, Triple Threat, and the famous Troublemaker. Halfway down you’ll take a break for a yummy and hearty lunch served riverside, included in trip cost. Then you’ll head downstream to the Gorge, a canyon filled with rapids such as Fowlers Rock, Satan’s Cesspool, Bouncing Rock, and Hospital Bar. After the last rapid our Honda Jet Ski will tow the rafts across Folsom Lake to the take-out at Salmon Falls. Ice-cold beverages will be provided and the shuttle will take us back to the campground by 5pm.
We're looking forward to your participation.😁🌷🌷
🌷🌷EVENT FEE:
Rafting fee is around $150. Rafting is half price for youth ages 6-16. Also, if we get enough participants we can get deeper discounts per person.
**There is an event fee of $8 ($5 for seniors >60) collected to support programs for children, **(esp. orphans and foster kids) for every hiking and outdoor activity **organize by In Support of Children Bay Area Hiking Group.
One such program will teach skills that will enable above children to earn a living when they leave the system at age 18. Not only will the skill give them some degree of financial independence, but will also boost their confidence and morale.
To get this program off the ground, we need to raise between $180-$200K. If you enjoy organizing & like to help help achieve this goal, please DM me. Together, we can make it happen sooner. Thank you for your support.
