"If you want peace, prepare for war"

"A harmless man is not a good man. A good man is a very dangerous man who has that under voluntary control." _ Jordan Peterson

***"An eye for an eye" is an age old sentiment that describes our sense of justice through fiery anger that goes way back since there were people. It is only recently that we humans inserted the "makes the world go blind" part as a way to resolve injustice and settle disputes in a civil manner. But that fire is still there deep within all of us.

Violent tendencies is an integral part of human nature.
Many like to think that the more civil the society, the less violent we get because our infrastructures creates an environment such that we no longer have things to fight against and for.

I, however, disagree with this view because human nature cannot be tamed. It's a matter of shifting levels.

I argue that no one is truly against violence because some of the biggest examples is how we tend to react in our gut about deep injustice in our world. Many of us wants punishment for heinous crimes because we feel that if there's no punishment, then that person or those people would have gotten away with their morally reprehensive behaviors.

Perhaps the greatest example is how humans view war. Most think they don't want to hurt others but as soon as their countries are invaded, we wish violence on our enemies. Also, combat sports is just a modern version of gladiatorial combat.

Lastly, the reasons why so many people are into vigilante justice movies such as "The Equalizer" & "John Wick" all stem from our human violent nature and we will greatly support it if it's the right kind of violence.
