Whether you're an experienced poet or writing your very first poem, you're welcome to join us for the first poetry meeting of the InterArts Workshop.

In this session we'll explore how subject (love, loss...), poetic mode (lyrical, narrative...) and voice (elevated, conversational...) shape a poem. We'll discuss different choices for each concept, look at a few examples and then spend time creating our own work. No previous experience with poetry is required.

The emphasis is on experimentation rather than perfection. This is a supportive workshop where everyone is encouraged to try ideas, share work if they wish, and learn from one another.

Bring something to write with. A notebook or laptop is fine, but you can also use your smartphone with a text editor, like Google docs.

Tentative program
• A short introduction to poetic subjects, modes and voices
• Reading of a few example poems
• A 15-minute writing exercise (one stanza)
• Reading of our work aloud in small groups
• Discussion of the results
• Longer exercise (up to 1h)
• Open writing and discussion

PS 1: If you RSVP 'Yes' but can no longer attend, please update your RSVP (if possible, one day in advance).

PS 2: If all spots are filled, please join the waitlist. In case of sufficient interest, I'll repeat the topic in another session soon.
