What we’re about
I'm hoping this group connects local people in their 30s and 40s- who can socialise both by being 'Interested' in others and 'Interesting' themselves! (You're probably much more interesting than you think - I think this name might have put some people off!) I've loved reading 'Talking to Strangers' by one of the guys who started 'Yes Theory' and 'Doorstep Mile' by Alastair Humphreys. I like the concept of the community dinner in 'Kindred' in Hammersmith. I enjoy building local friendships and relationships, and think this can be hard in London. I much prefer decent chats than small talk, but have a silly sense of humour too. Come along - let's see what we can create together.
Either meet in a coffee shop - and head out for a mooch somewhere - either just for a walk and talk, or to another local 'thing' to do. Or if it's raining or ' An evening Soiree' - I'll come up with something entertaining to do while we're sitting down - so it's not 'just' a coffee meetup. I find a 'prop' can make it not too intense for first meetings - Esther Perel, Seek discomfort or circle of life questions have prooved excellent props for conversations.
I'm sure this will morph over time, but setting this up in March 2024, and aiming to keep both costs and numbers low / event - so we can actually meet people, and build a community as opposed to make money. We'll probably meet once/ month ish - on a weekend afternoon or weekday evening to start with.
We'll always meet in a public space, around Hammersmith & Fulham 'ish'!
