Fundamentals: Linux Disk/File Systems
Details
After the presentation we'll have time to socialize and talk about other Linux/Open Source topics of interest.
This meetup will be about Linux File Systems; what they are, how to use them, types, LVM and a lot more. We'll have some slides and a demo. If you want to "follow along" and try things out, be sure to NOT use a workstation that you have important data on. Instead, create a relatively small VM, once created add at least two additional (empty) disks so the VM ends up with 3 (virtual) disk devices. We'll use this to try out commands. There's no need for a GUI but it won't hurt to have that available.
The talk will be using Fedora Server - but you can use other distros and follow along too.
