"Assalamu Alaikum! Welcome to the Hannover International Muslim Community!
This group is a warm and welcoming space for English-speaking Muslims living in or visiting Hannover, Germany. Whether you're here for studies, work, or family, we understand that building connections in a new place can be challenging. Our aim is to create a supportive community where we can:
- Connect & Build Friendships: Meet fellow international Muslims from diverse backgrounds, share experiences, and form lasting bonds.
- Engage in Meaningful Discussions: Discuss topics relevant to our lives as Muslims in a multicultural environment, share perspectives, and learn from each other in a respectful atmosphere.
- Support Each Other: Foster an environment of genuine care and mutual support. We look out for one another, offering friendship and a helping hand when needed, embodying the Islamic principles of brotherhood/sisterhood (Ukhuwah).
- Enjoy Social Gatherings: Relax and have fun together through regular meetups! These could include:
- Coffee & Conversation sessions
- Community Iftars (during Ramadan) and Eid celebrations
- Picnics in Hannover's beautiful parks (e.g., Maschsee, Herrenhäuser Gärten)
- Exploring Halal restaurants & cafes
- Family-friendly outings
- Volunteering opportunities within Hannover
- Casual game nights or potlucks
- Hiking or light sports activities
Our core values are inclusivity, respect, kindness, and mutual support. We welcome Muslims of all backgrounds, nationalities, and schools of thought who are comfortable communicating primarily in English. Our goal is to strengthen our faith through community, ease the challenges of being away from home, and create a true sense of belonging in Hannover.
