ZUG - Cleanup Zugersee (Tag der guten Tat)

Details

🌳Join us and help making a contribution to combating waste by collecting carelessly discarded litter along the banks of the Zugersee and disposing of it correctly.

Even as one of Switzerland’s beautiful lakes in central Switzerland, the Zugersee is sadly not exempt from waste which has a considerable impact on nature and the environment.

Despite government-organized clean-up efforts, considerable amounts of pollutants can be found in Swiss lakes, rivers, and stream shores. Due to wind, high water, and other variables, these pollutants end up in waterways and can be transported all the way to the ocean. Plastic and other waste are not only an aesthetic problem, but a concrete danger for plants, animals, and people.

Dr. Sam Cusworth from the Environmental Chemistry Department at ETHZ, will give a short talk at the end of the event discussing how plastics can influence our environment.
