The topic of discussion will be Use-Case #5: The Impact of Generative AI on Elections & Democracy.
🌎 In 2024, an unprecedented number of countries will be holding elections. According to Bloomberg News, these nations collectively represent more than 41% of the global population and 42% of the world’s GDP. AI technologies, such as Generative AI, are already influencing the information ecosystem, empowering individuals to generate highly realistic images (Deepfakes), videos, audio, or written content based on prompts—raising concerns over the spread of misinformation and disinformation.
During this live session, we will examine how advancements in AI technology exacerbate existing challenges to democratic processes and electoral integrity, while also exploring opportunities for international mobilization efforts, such as the United Nations Global Digital Compact.
