What we’re about
We shall get together through zoom to discuss Films Noirs that we would have seen on our own. The films chosen are available free or for a small fee in youtube or other platforms.
We are reaching our 128th event in early 2026 and while most films have been true FN, the range has been broad and some might rightly fall under the category of Film Blanc. This is therefore a good time to highlight some traits that distinguish one from the other:
FN: Betrayal, Revenge, Cynicism, Lust, Pessimism, Passion, Melancholy, Alienation, Bleakness, Disillusionment, Ambiguity, Moral Corruption, Desperation, Paranoia,
FB: Fantasy, Romantic Love, Life Affirming, Optimistic, Bright, Spiritual, Sentimental, Positive Human Potential, Tolerance, Forgiveness, Acceptance, Feel-Good, Often Comedic, Often Musical.

- Versions: Two versions were made to be released in different markets.
- The German version, titled Abenteuer in Wien (also known as Gefährliches Abenteuer), was for the Austrian and German markets.
- The English-language version, titled Stolen Identity, was made for the U.S. market.
- Cast: Because different versions were made, the lead actors were different in each version to cater to each market.
- Production: The films were a co-production between Austrian companies like Schönbrunn-Film and American companies such as Transglobe-Film Inc..

This film has been restored and looks much better and in my view, has better direction. However, it is in German without subtitles.
