What we’re about
We meet online and in person to learn and practice zen meditation in an inclusive way, sharing silence together, and to reflect on writings from the World's many sources of wisdom.
Zen is the practice of coming to see and embody the oneness and interconnectedness of life - so taught Bernie Glassman, a great pioneer of socially engaged Buddhism and teacher in the Japanese Soto Zen tradition.
One of the ways he explored this was by reaching out to people of different religions and spiritual communities to bring their wisdom and experience to help heal the world. He did this especially through his own Jewish roots, through his friendship with many Christian teachers, and through Muslim peacemakers he collaborated with in the Middle East.
We practice under the guidance of Jeana Teiju Moore, a lifelong student of Zen who helped Glassman create and lead international peacemaking circles, bringing people of many cultures and religions together to find ways to address conflict and practical social challenges. She has led activities all over the world, including Palestine and Israel, Europe, and the US.
