See all- Day trip to Burrolandia, Otumba (beautiful town) & Aqueduct of Padre TemblequeJac's, Ciudad de México$53.00
Let´s have a fantastic day out, exploring the donkey reserve of Burrolandia, the town of Otumba (one of the 177 Pueblos Mágicos) and the Aqueduct of Padre Tembleque. All in the State if Mexico, around 2 hours from Mexico City. It's the perfect destination for nature lovers, culture lovers, and anyone seeking an authentic Mexican experience, away from the tourist crowds.
BURROLANDIA
The Burrolandia sanctuary was founded in 2006 and is dedicated to the protection of the Mexican donkey, which is in danger of extinction. It is the only sanctuary of its kind in Mexico and America and is located in Otumba, in the State of Mexico. In the sanctuary around 50 donkeys are under protection, most of them rescued from mistreatment or abandonment; some of them have also been donated by people who no longer want or can care for them.To support Burrolandia Mexico, guided tours are organized. A specialized guide will tell you the story of how donkeys came to the American continent after the Spanish conquest, the causes of why they are in danger of extinction (with machinery to work the land they are not longer needed and are killed for their meat), what they eat, how long they can live (between 25 and 40 years); and of the different species that exist in the world.
During this tour you can feed the the donkeys; you can buy the food at the ticket booth. Very recommended, if you want to receive and give even more love. We really love the sanctuary; the donkeys are treated with dignity, love and respect. No show, no circus, just some beautiful moments with those lovely creatures. Plus good explanations of the guides.
OTUMBA
Afterwards we visit the charming colonial town of Otumba. This picturesque destination transports you back in time, with its cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and historic central plaza.
We can explore the lively traditional market and sample local delicacies,
marvel at Otumba's impressive 16th-century church and learn about its fascinating history. Around, we can enjoy gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and majestic mountainsWith its warm, welcoming locals and wealth of sights, a visit to Otumba will create unforgettable memories.

This architectural marvel was built in the 16th century to bring water to the city of Otumba, Mexico. It is an impressive sandstone aqueduct stretching over 39 miles, that contains 68 arches up to 75 feet tall and was built without mortar - a remarkable engineering feature, designated as an unique UNESCO World Heritage Site. (all our blogs can be found on the above site, under ´Menu´) - Guided Walk Mexico City - In the footsteps of Manuel TolsáNeeds location$14.00
Let´s make a guided walk in Mexico City, in the footsteps of Manuel Tolsá, by certified guide, in English and Spanish.
Manuel Tolsá (1757–1816) was a Spanish-born architect, sculptor, and engineer who left a lasting legacy in Mexico with his grand contributions to art and architecture during the late colonial period.
Upon arriving in New Spain (Mexico) in 1791, Tolsá quickly became a prominent figure in the city's cultural and architectural transformation. His most famous work is El Caballito, the magnificent equestrian statue of King Charles IV. This bronze sculpture, completed in 1803, is a marvel of its time and a striking example of neoclassical art in the Americas.
Tolsá also designed and oversaw the construction of some of Mexico City's most iconic buildings. The Palacio de Minería, completed in 1813, stands as a testament to his architectural genius, blending neoclassical elements with practical design. His work on the Altar de los Reyes in the Metropolitan Cathedral further showcased his ability to combine artistic vision with religious grandeur.
The price for the guided walk in English and Spanish by certified guide with a small group is 250 pesos. Prepaid 100 %, by cash payment at any 7 Eleven store.

(all our blogs can be found on the above site, under ´Menu´) - Exploring and Hiking Nevado de Toluca and crater lakesOutside Toks Navarte Restaurant at Metro Etiopia, Mexico City$70.00
The Nevado de Toluca is a large stratovolcano in central Mexico, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) west of Mexico City near the city of Toluca in the State of Mexico, around 2 hours from Mexico City. It is generally cited as the fourth highest of Mexico's peaks, after Pico de Orizaba, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl.
There are two crater lakes on the floor of the basin that we can visit on a hike of about 3.5 hours, at about 4,200 m (13,800 ft), the larger Lago del Sol (Sun Lake) and the smaller, but deeper, Lago de la Luna (Moon Lake). If you just like to hike up to the crater to enjoy the great views that is also possible.
The trip is not too heavy, we take it slow to get adjusted to the height; you can make the trip as heavy as you want, during this great encounter with nature.
