Dear friends,
Daily more fascinated by all around Gaudi, couldn't not organising this.
BCN scoop, before Madrid, Seoul and Hong-Kong.
The exhibition’s greatest asset lies in what Barcelona—and the world—never actually saw. The UPC’s Gaudí Chair has reconstructed projects that remained merely on paper.
It is also the 1st exhibit to bring together Gaudí’s public and private work.
Standing out the Hotel Attraction in New York, conceived in 1908 and long envisioned as a skyscraper over 300 meters tall. Research by Galdric Santana now places its height at around 150 meters and interprets it as a major cultural center featuring an auditorium, exhibition halls, and event spaces. Not just a hotel, Gaudí proposed a building for exhibitions and congresses that, according to Santana, anticipated museographic approaches that wouldn't emerge until decades later.
"Gaudí Code: The Unseen Experience" opens at the new Espai Imagina during the Gaudí Year 2026, reconstructing some of the most fascinating works the architect envisioned but never actually built. Spanning 1,200 square meters, the exhibition deciphers his creative process and will subsequently travel to Madrid, Seoul, and Hong Kong.
Galdric Santana, director UPC’s Gaudí Chair & curator, places this method within Vitruvian principles and 3 concepts: geometry, function, and symbolism. Code he established when student days and maintained all his life.
Let's be fascinated together!
