Walking on Büyükada

The bucolic island of Büyükada has long served as a place of exile from the stress and chaos of Istanbul. On this walk, we will spend the afternoon hours wandering hills and forests that have inspired many writers, artists, and poets throughout the centuries.

The walk will take roughly 4.5 hours (including break times), with 200 metres of ascent. It includes two hours in the park on the summit of St. George's Church mountain. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks to eat along the way.

The boat from Kabataş departs at 10:05 to Büyükada. It stops at Kadiköy and departs again to Büyükada at 10:30 and reaches the island at 11:50.

The Mavi Marmara boat from Bostancı departs at 10:45.
