Many people have tried meditation; sitting quiet, calming the mind and sitting still is a universal way to come home to ourselves. Often when we get through a troubled time and come out the other side we can forget about meditation and get back into the day-to-day details of life. But meditation is far more effective as a preventive strategy then as a temporary fix, in the same way that brushing your teeth and flossing daily is a more effective way to deal with the threat of tooth decay. At first when you start meditating the novelty of the experience will feel enticing. But as the months and years of daily practice roll by you can get discouraged or bored thinking nothing is happening. Something is happening but it might be invisible to you. In this session we will begin with a simple guided meditation and then an open discussion. Whether you are an experienced meditator or brand new to meditation come join us for the communal experience of meditating together.
