This event will happen immediately before our regular January meeting. You can come to either event, or both!

Welcome to the Interrobang New Year Book Exchange! This is a very special meeting in which regular members of the club will come together to do a white-elephant-style book exchange.

What to bring
Each participant brings one WRAPPED book (brown paper is fine!) with a short description written on it (or on a card). The description should give the reader the flavor of the book without giving away what book it is. (For example, for "Romeo and Juliet" you could write: "Teen romance is going great until family feud gets in the way.")

Choosing and Purchasing a Book
Please choose a book that you personally love and would recommend to another reader, a book that has won many awards, or something that fits the themes and styles that the club regularly reads. These books should NOT include novelty, gift or gag books, travel books, textbooks, or books in poor physical condition. You may purchase a new book or re-gift one from your shelves, but it should meet the criteria above.

How the meeting runs
We will start by reading out all of the descriptions of the books. Then we will draw numbers for who gets to pick first. Books may be "stolen" twice. We continue taking turns choosing and opening books until everyone has a book.

And everyone goes home with a new-to-them book!
