Don't forget to take your laptop with you tomorrow and download the VM http://loubele.org/Elastic.ova and take the instructions http://loubele.org/instructions.pdf with you.
For October's Meetup, the KW Intersections Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Intersections-KW/) and theWaterloo/Kitchener Elasticsearch Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Waterloo-Kitchener-Elasticsearch-Meetup/) will join forces for a special hands-on meetup. A hands-on session means that you all will be able to play with the technology, so make sure that you bring your laptops with you. We will cover the following topics:
• How to install Elasticsearch and Kibana on a virtual machine
• How to get Twitter data from the Twitter API into Elasticsearch
• How to build some insightful visualizations with Kibana
• How to perform Text classification with Elasticsearch (https://www.elastic.co/blog/text-classification-made-easy-with-elasticsearch)
We will provide you some extra practical pointers closer to the day of the Meetup. The meetup will be hosted at the new Sortable office.
