About us
Into the Wild & Within is a small-group outdoor community for people who want to explore the backcountry, connect with nature, practice yoga, and meet other adventurous people.
I grew up in Nepal, where hiking was less of a hobby and more of a way of getting from one place to another. I did my first big trek, the Everest Base Camp trail, in middle school, and somewhere along the way, I fell completely in love with being in the mountains. Over the years, I've trekked through Nepal, Patagonia, Peru, Ecuador, Spain, Indonesia, and the U.S., and eventually found my way into backcountry backpacking.
But I've discovered that one of the hardest parts of backpacking isn't the trail. It's finding people who actually want to come with you.
That's why I created Into the Wild & Within. A small community for adventure seekers that also enjoy yoga in the nature.

Backpack: Seneca Creek, WV 16.8 miles
Spruce Knob Trailhead, Forest Rd 274, Riverton, WV 26814, Riverton, WV, USJoin me for a weekend of backpacking, yoga, nature, and a little post-hike wine! I’m taking a small group to one of my favorite backcountry spots in West Virginia: the Spruce Knob–Seneca Creek area. It'll be a weekend of hiking, cold-water plunges in Seneca Creek, yoga in the woods, and camping on soft, mossy ground in red spruce forest bed and beside the soothing sounds of the creek.
We’ll cover roughly 16.8 miles over three days, with a tentative plan of about 2 miles Friday, 9.3 miles Saturday, and 5.5 miles Sunday. The trail has plenty of campsites and water sources, and I aim to keep a balanced pace that leaves room to stop, look around, enjoy the landscape, and actually experience the trail rather than simply race through it.
Yoga will be woven naturally into the weekend, with time to stretch and breathe outside. No fancy yoga mats required. A tent footprint, sleeping pad, or towel makes a perfectly good studio in the middle of the woods.
This is a shorter, lower-mileage version of the backpacking route I usually do, making it a great introduction for anyone curious about backpacking and ready to give it a try. I like to end backpacking with a winery stop post hike.
