Crouy-sur-Ourcq: Canals and Templars

🥾 🌿Join us for a hike under the sign of water and history. At the exit of the station, we will be welcomed by the Château du Houssoy, built in 1390, of which only the dungeon remains. From there, we will reach the woods to find the Négando marsh, exploited until the 20th century, for the extraction of turf which, once dried, provided domestic fuel. We will then join the Clignon canal to find the village of Montigny l'Allier, where the former Commandery of the Templars is located. We will again cross the city to discover the meanders of the Canal de l'Ourcq.

🥾 🌿 Rejoignez-nous pour une randonnée sous le signe de l’eau et de l’histoire. A la sortie de la gare, nous serons accueillis par le Château du Houssoy, construit en 1390, dont il ne reste plus que le donjon. De là, nous gagnerons les bois pour atteindre le marais du Négando, exploité jusqu'au XXe siècle, pour l'extraction de la tourbe qui une fois séchée, fournissait un combustible domestique. Nous rejoindrons ensuite le canal du Clignon pour trouver le village de Montigny l’Allier, où se situe l’ancienne commanderie des Templiers. Nous retraverserons la ville pour découvrir les méandres du canal de l’Ourcq.
